X6 Tint Suggestions

Taking ownership of new 2011 X6 35i (Black Sapphire Metallic) the first week of February. I didn't get the Rear Climate package - so there is no tint. I want to get it tinted first thing, and have no clue what to get. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do I have to do both front & rear windows? In my previous X5's I didn't tint the front door windows, and it looked fine. Not sure how the X6 would look due to the coupe like lines.

What % do you recommend (please keep in mind I live in New York State, I don't want to deal the police)?

Do I need to worry about the Dot Matrix issues for tinting the X6?

I think 20% around except the windshield would look clean. If that's too dark then 30%.

You can get by with 30% tint. I am not sure how strict they are upstate. Down here I have very very dark tints.. like 15% and I get hassled once a week. They changed the laws in NYC. It is like 75%. I would do some research and find out what the laws are in your county.

I have 35% on mine. I could get you some picture if you want. I have rear, side and front window tint.

20% all the way around. It is illegal here but they don't mess with you unless you get pulled over for something else.

This is 35% - correct? Looks good. I agree, I'm not looking to give cops a reason to pull me over. Thanks.

Texas is 25% on side windows and any darkness on rear window. I havent decided what I'm getting either. We get so much sun here that you really need things darker........but then no one could see me in this beast !!!HA

go with the 20%. My X6 is the same color w/ black int. Anything lighter will leave you with regrets. I had 35% put on my X5 and they are too light. You will be happy with the 20%.

This is my X5. I matched the factory tint on the front windows. I have the same color scheme as you. Hope it helps
