Head unit change for X6

Hi all, just wondering if anyone had done a cd deck/head unit change for the x6 to a after market one such as alpine or pioneer ?
or if any one knows if it's possible

while keeping the idrive for either a single din or double din

or even just adding a nice factory style looking rear camera to play on the idrive.

Thanks all.

As far as I know, it is impossible as the unit is tied into the idrive and not much space u can install an aftermarket in it. U can add the reverse camera in the x6 but provided it is ori from BMW as well and programing is needed here also.
I have ask few installer abt changing the entertainment system, all of them told me unable to do so as programing are needed.

I think you can. May be you want to check on my current install of my Alpine F1 head unit and processor install together with audison bit one or may be a Motus Lad in order to run with the i drive. But off course the F1 will run independently. Have a look in my install thread. Hope this help. http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/...audio-install/
