Lowered 2011 X5 SAV
I decided to go ahead and lower my 2011 X5 with the H&R lowering springs. I have the SA package, but not the active handling. I purchased the springs that provide the 2" drop in the front and the 1.2" drop in the rear. I called UUC Motorwerks to confirm that these would work on the 2011 model before I purchased them. I haven't installed them yet, and I know that I will have to do the realignment when I swap the springs out, but does anybody know if I will need a camber adjustment kit?

How does it effect your warranty as another member asked? Curious to see it lowered too. Be sure to post some good pics and take notes if you run into any hard steps on the install. Good Luck!!

Ever get these installed? Would like to see new pics. Don't think you'll need a camber adjustment.
As for the other questions. After the Magnuson Moss warranty act, dealers are required to PROVE that the item you changed directly caused whatever damage or failure you're trying to have repaired under warranty. If they try to refuse to fix something, just saying the words "Magnuson Moss" usually helps move things along. They used to refuse to fix the air conditioner because the owner went one size bigger on the tires, so they deserve what they got with the warranty act. |
