2011 X6 Sports Package

Just purchased a 2011 x6 3.5i with sports package added including the 20" y spoke wheels. Wanted to know if the suspension is the same as the basic 3.5i X6. Thanks!

...Sports Package in depth details would be great!

No. Sports package includes adaptive drive- much better than the base suspension.

Actually there are two options: 1) sport activity package (without adaptive drive, but simply 20" wheels set up) and 2) sport package which also include adaptive drive...this one is more expensive...

I have 09 X6 35i.

Mine has a sports package....and I can push the SPORT button inside by my toggle.....seems it's a bit quicker when I do and it handles better around curves etc.

Can anyone else elaborate on this as well?

1) Pushing the "sport" button below the gear shifter = Sport setting for Adaptive Drive. This button only controls the settings for the EDC (Electronic Dampening Control) and Active Roll Stabilization. It does not have anything to do with the engine, throttle mapping, or transmission. It will handle better/flatter with this sport mode engaged. The ride is a little harsher though. Great for some back-road fun ... not so great for the interstate.
**You only have this button if you ordered the Sport Package (NOT Sport Activity Package) or Adaptive Drive as a stand alone option.**

2) Pushing the gear selector to the left = Drive Sport = Sport setting for the transmission. The center display in-between the speedometer and tachometer will show the current gear as S1, S2, S3, etc. It will hold a lower gear and will hold it for longer. The car will feel more responsive.

3) Pushing the gear selector to the left and then pushing it forward or back and/or using the steering wheel paddles = Drive Sport - Manual Mode. The center display in-between the speedometer and tachometer will show the current gear as M1, M2, M3, etc.

So if you have the Sport button, you have adaptive drive? Is that the tell take sign?

Yes, sir.

I found this pic on google images ... you can see the sport button right below the shifter ... in front of the parking break ...

I keep adaptive drive in sport mode almost all the time. Its slightly harsher ride, but not much. Its not uncomfortable at all. No one has mentioned the ride except to comment how stable it seems in corners.

I flip between sport (S#) and standard (D) shift mode several times in a typical drive. Any time I need more aggressive acceleration, like merging into traffic or passing, I move into sport shift mode. It gives the X6 a totally different personality. MWHAHAHA

I don't have that sport button underneath my shifter, does this mean I do not have Adaptive Drive?
