Debating X5 50i sport package vs m sport package

The 20" wheels that come on the sport package are awesome! The m sport 20" are nice but don't seem to excite me enough. The m sport accents are awesome though.

Both versions are great, however I feel that the painted trim looks stellar and really adds to the vehicle. Unfortunately, I do not have pics on this computer, however If you go into the thread "SHOE ME PICS OF YOUR X5" you will see mine. I vote for the M PKG. You cannot go wrong. Good luck in your decsion.

I orginaly wanted to order a 50i with Sport Activity to get the Vermillion Red, a heated wheel and a few other items I thought I preferred over the M Sport. But a white M Sport looked soo good I bought it off the lot.

IMO the Sport Pac only looks good with the darker colors (grey's and blacks)because the dark grey wheel arches blend better with the paint.

For me, I liked the 336 wheels with the sport and I wanted the running boards(useless but i like the look) which are only offered with the sport.

Also I think the Sport Pac give's it a "sporty look" vs the "refined look" of the M Pac.

just my opinion!

I had the same dilemma but with the 35i. I opted for the Sport package because I also wanted Black, and I had read about issues people had with road debris kicking up and messing up the finish. The only thing I wish I had from the M package is their front bumper. Otherwise, I am cometely satisfied with what I got. Good luck with your choice ! Can't really go wrong with either.

I am sure it looked awesome in the lot. That always happens when you see it face to face! Thank you for the insight!

Yes I agree the black and gray do look great! Yes it does have a more sport look while m is more refined. Good points. Thank you!

Yes I know that front profile is aggressive looking. You probably think I'm crazy but the m door sills, steering wheel and foot rest are hard to give up too!

i went with the sport (w/ aerokit) for the ff (listed in random order):
- heated steering wheel
- prefer 336 wheels
- prefer aerokit look (esp front but not so much rear)
- need running boards for kids and bad back
- don't want to be viewed as a poser by the X5M brethren (no offense to those w/ m sport - just my opinion)
- chipping issues w/ m sport

My first post btw

Do you have any pics you can post? I'm interested in checking out the sport with 336 wheels and aero kit!

Btw, I have a plat grey x50i sport with 336's. I think it looks awesome!!!

Unfortunately not yet - car was ordered 3 weeks ago - can't wait. Have a body shop (affiliated w/ BMW) lined up to do the aerokit paint and install so hopefully can share some pics soon. will de doing a fair amount of mods so give me a week or so after delivery.

i am sure they look great, we have a space grey 09 with the 214s and i find the 336 similar in style.

That said, i love the body color flares of the m-sport.

It seems like the 20" wheels are more pronounced with the sculpted rear versus the m sport rear which seems to engulf them.
