Picked up the 2011 X35d

Wow. Just wow. 2011 X35d, damn near all options.

It is amazing to me that BMW can take this 5k lb vehicle and make it feel like a go cart.

Pix to follow.

I bought one for my wife, and now my '05 X5 seems a bit boring, without all the techno doodads and such, plus the diesel really hauls....

I've been waiting to order a 535d for myself. After having driven this thing, I'm tempted to get another one of these. What an amazing drive.

I don't know whether it's the sport activity package or what, but I can't get over how this thing sticks to the ground.

I recently test drove the 2011 X35d and it's simply awesome. All of you out there rolling in these just make me very jealous. I think it's about time I upgrade from my '07 3.0si. Shhh.... It's only money..

for those who've driven both the 35d and 35i. how does it compare powerwise? i'm assuming the 35d has more torque, but the 35i is quicker?

congrats...i'll be getting mine in 6-8 wks.

LOL - dude I know! That's what I'm saying - I cannot get over how this thing drives. Before you respond, go find a 35d w the sport pak, and take it for a spin.

I'm not a fan of the diesel, but you honestly cannot go wrong with any motor offered for the X5, unlike previous years when the N52 was sooooo underpowered.

Getting yours? I sure hope its the d or you will hate what I am about to tell you. In a 335, the i is faster by a bit, and with a tune its much more fun too. If I had to do it over, I am still going for the 335i.

But; Yes there is a huge BUUUT! In an X5, no contest, not even close IMO. The d all the way by a mile. In fact, the 35d compares more favorably to the 4.8i. It is just that good. And faster? Yes, the 35d is much faster. Only way I am getting an X5 in fact is in a d. Count me in the converted crowd. Oh another thing, its cleaner than my 335i, cleaner than the M3 too, and I know that sounds funny but its true even if you put your nose next to a running vehicle's exhaust pipe. No mistaking which one will kill you faster. That Urea injection technology done wonders with the diesel soot.

Didn't care for the 35d 6-speed at all. Loved the new N55 engine 35i!

Opinons really seem to vary widely... I can't for the life of me understand why, other than fuel efficiency, one would choose the 35d over the 35i.

Fuel efficiency was the primary reason on this end - and the cost savings once you factor in the eco credit. I love the turbo 6 motor - im sure one would not be disappointed with the 35i.

The huge credit was the main reason that got people to buy it. I saw them there and I could've saved myself a ton of money. But like you, I just couldn't say no to the N55
