Any X6 50i's on the west coast?
I am curious to see if you know of any of the 4.4TT delivered on the west coast?
All the dealers out here seem to belive the vehicle is not yet available and I have spoke with dealers in Texas who have sold them!? |

I ordered mine in June and it's currently in "scheduled for production" status, delivery to me is scheduled first week of September. The dealer I ordered it at had two(35i) for test drives but now those have been sold.
They never had a 50i. Update: status: on truck on it's way to dealer. delivery to me is August 19th.

No V8 cars yet in the Seattle area… I spoke to the dealer down in Tacoma and their first 50i might not arrive for another couple of months! Actually, they seemed to prefer NOT getting an ’08 50i… they feel it’s too late in the production year to sell a completely new model… they suggested that waiting for the ’09 would be their preference… interesting…

I agree the whole role out seems odd, kind of like BMW wasn't sure they could sell it. I heard from one of the dealers in my area that 09's would not be available until some time in May. Which again is strange timing, go figure.

It is wierd that I talked to one dealer in Texas that has had 2 this week (saw window sticker on one) and then I talk to a major west coast dealer like BMW of San Francisco and they believe the first one will be out in October!
Why such the lack of information for a vehicle that is built in the US? |

Well another thing to keep in mind is dealers had to commit to buying these (which is where the "sold out" rumors came from) and maybe some of the dealers weren't sure they would be able to sell them. Maybe they are just spinning that.
550chris, I lived in San Francisco for 10 years I could see where this type of car would be a hard sell there.

The first X6 50s have been released to the US over a week ago. The roll out of this model was delayed b/c of some initial issues with the new motor and lag b/c of software.... the other issue is that the dollar being less than other currencies and other markets making BMW more money the cars for other markets are getting allotments first....
West Coasters of course see things a bit later due to transit tiimes. I saw one of the first production run cars back in April.... it was impressive looking but was not to be released to the market until the end of May. The total run for this model is not sold out, there are banks available as some orders were cancelled by dealers (as of 2 weeks ago) but for the most part the slots are taken. Also worth noting is that the vast majority are almost loaded, at $81k-$83k. The thing is going to be a beast and should out duel any other street performance SUV. I hope to review one in the not so distant future!
