Half an inch narrower in the rear shouldn't cause any major issues. At the moment, these are the only specs we'll be offering though.

You really need to consider adding the stock sizes to the line-up. I for one do not want a narrower wheel than stock and the extremely short side wall of the tire will not offer the ride quality or protect the rim from damage on the potholes of Ct. Just my 2 cents....

I would really like to see 22x11 front and 22x12 rear. If anything I would like a wider track than stock.

How strong are the wheels you are making and selling for the SUV crowd? I ask because a lot of us tow, and I'm having a hard time finding an aftermarket wheel that is rated for the kind of loads some of us will tug around with our X5s.

While these wheels have been engineered for larger vehicles, it is difficult to make recommendations on towing because, as many of you may know, there are numerous other factors that come into play. When determining whether a certain load can be towed, the driver would need to calculate whether the towing capacity and tongue weight are within acceptable limits. Towing capacity is a bit more straightforward and would be a vehicle’s ability to pull (and stop) a given load safely. The driver would also need to do some rough calculations to ensure a proper tongue weight. Tongue weight is essentially the measurable weight at the trailer tongue, where the trailer mounts to the vehicle/hitch. The general rule of thumb would be for a trailer’s tongue weight to be between 10-15% of the loaded trailer weight – less than 10% and there’s a chance for instability, greater than 15% and there may be a decrease in vehicle starting, stopping, and turning performance. Once the tongue weight is determined, this amount should be added to the vehicle’s anticipated axle weight to make sure the load is safe (and legal, for that matter). Should the tongue weight be too much (or too little), this is easily correctable by shifting the weight of the load either forward or backwards to move the center of gravity of the trailer. The rears definitely have a nice concavity profile.

E70 X5 is rated to tow 6k pounds in the U.S.. 10% advisable tongue weight would add 600 pounds in theory to the rear axles, assuming weight bias/distribution remained equal front-to-rear when towing (probably not realistic, but with auto-leveling I don't think it changes much based on my towing experiences with this chassis.)
What is the average weight these wheels are rated to, then, I guess is the next question? Thanks for the help! |

The 22” V710 wheels are rated at 815kg or 1796.77lbs per wheel. This would yield a 1630kg or 3593.54lbs weight rating for the two rear wheels combined. When towing it’s also important to note that the rear GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating) for the X5 is 1590kg or 3505.35lbs.
