I believe Amy used the pipes that are meant for the 35d, but they were modified by the dealer. I dont think its rocket science to have the modification done, so just take it to a qualified place and they should be able to fit it for you.

Amy has the proof that it is possible!

Yay thanks everyone, unfortunately because its week days now i'm working and can't take it out for pics but i'll put some more on soon of the inside etc. Yep the exhaust pipes were just the ones in the BMW accessories brochure for X5/X6 unfortunately the 40d has changed in design to the 35d and the exhausts/car needed to be modified!

Anyone with a brain and a bit of knowledge in welding will be able to do it no problem. So don't take NO for an answer, I told BMW I would reject the car if those exhausts were not on lol

P.S I for got to say GOD THIS CAR IS AMAZING!!! The steering is better than the 35d we tested, the power is immense and the handling is just phenomenal. It'll blow your socks off, I love it soooooo much

The paint work is all waxed and buttery the detailer did an amazing job, she is like silk to touch.

Picking mine up on Thursday - can't wait after hearing your feedback

On the exhaust, my dealer has said that they can fit them but BMW would then consider the warranty on the exhaust to be invalidated because of the modifications. BMW UK are officially saying the part is not approved for the 40d. Hopefully they will release a part that is approved in the not too distant future :/
