back to the thread thou, i'm not being Jeremy Clarkson, but those X5m, X6m, V12 Diesel Q7, Cayenne Turbo, and even those supercharged Range rovers with 5.0L...seriously uncool

putting a huge engine into a huge suv with lowered height and sport tires at $100K?

no thanks, i will take a base M3 and a X5 v6 3.0 instead.
Everyone have their own taste, For me honestly those suvs are perfect, Anyway you won't use all potential of your m3 cause it's made more for the track which 90% doesn't go to. M3 is to low and to bumpy not really comfortable. In the suv you get both.

i respect everyone's opinion, i'm sure these are great for some people
but from my exeprience, at least, i believe owning a track-ready yet practical sports sedan and a decent SUV sounds better.
How are we going to use those 5.0+ engines / forced induction..especially in an SUV?

Take it to track? No.
On local roads? Maybe when entering highway
Use if for daily? No way. I've owned large engine (4.0+ L) cars, it realistically can't be used as daily, especially with this gas price.
Trips? yes, but a v6 3.0 will do the Exact same job for significantly less money on both car price and gas price
For the Looks? i believe Range Rover sports/Range Rovers look much better than any other SUVs on the market, just on the looks.

My 335i 6MT would outperform just about any motorcycle... so many of them have tried, and all failed,- Harley, any kawasaki and the likes, and even Ducati could not keep up with my 335i in 0- to 60 to over 100 mph... 335i is a very quick and fast car, wonder if any videos out there of such runs. But it has to be 6 MT 335i.

It's gonna be really hard to outperform a bike without at least jb3 on your 335i. What kind of mods do you have?

Actually, you do what I do, use your ML63 to trailer your "track" M3 to events.

You don't spend 90k on a big V8 to worry about gas prices. If you worry about gas prices then you buy smaller engine vehicles.

That's very true. I buy big powerful cars and hate the gas guzzling nature of them not because I can't afford to fill the tank but because they need to be filled too frequently. Hello BMW!! Please tell me why you a put tiny gas tank on M5s and M6s? Sheez.

Probably to save some weight, if you had 50gallon tank it would be twice slower.
p.s. I hate to stop @ gas station every 3 days even with my 35i, I can only imagine ///M )
