X5M Oil Interval Question

Good afternoon,

Wanted to inquire if you guys follow the 15K Oil interval change based on the iDrive.

I understand its LL Oil but just want to get some input. Car already has 10K miles on the oil and another 5K to go before I can have the dealer change it under the maintenance program for free.

I also do not want to be foolish and create potential issues with the engine so that I can save $100 on oil.

Thanks

Also any experience with Liqui Moly? I switched over Liqui on my Audi and no issues.

Thanks

Funny that you would post this, I have my M scheduled to have an oil change tomorrow even though the iDrive says I still have 9k to go. Call me paranoid but I'll only go about 6-7k before I change the oil. I drive my truck "enthusiastically' so I feel the expense is worthwhile insurance - if not just for mental peace.

My SA said that the iDrive would not be reset so I do get the "scheduled" oil changes.

Liqui moly is more popular in the vw/audi boards. Haven't heard much from the BMW guys using it. I change every 7.5k miles with regular bmw oil (non m specific) and reset the light only when it says its due.
