First Generation X5's - Buying Advice

hey all,

so i'm in the market for a winter beater and I've come across a couple ads on the Internet for some local x5's with roughly 140-170K Kms... The models are either 2001 or 2002 and exterior-wise the condition of the car looks great.

I know these are the first generation x5's from BMW so i'm not sure on the reliability or the quality of these vehicles...

Can any current(or past) X5 owners chime in with their experiences on these cars? Ideally what are things I should look out for with this these specific years? How much life should I expect to get out of these engines?
