Just purchased 2013 X5 M Sport

With the M performance package. Incredible truck. Since I already have 440 HP/ 485 TQ from BMW Tune, anyone else purchase Velos stage 2 or Dinan stage 2 and experience significant power increase?

Congrats!!! That's a nice X5...I have the same color with the M Sport package. I don't know anything about the tuning but maybe I'll check into it someday.

I have a BMS stage 1 on my 2011 X5. Real noticable difference. It is a piggyback system for $450-$600 depending on N63 or N63tu egine. The N63tu makes more power.

I have the Velos stage 2 on my 2013 50i. It really has improved my overall enjoyment of the car. Best upgrade out there.

I have BMS Stage 1 and it hauls. Waiting to put in Stg 2, just have too much going on. There are a couple of vids of BMS 2 beta in a 550i walking a Dinan stg 3 but they are in a private FB group and don't work here.

According to its website and email with Terry, no stage 2 exists. I need more power

N63/S63 Stage1 From $449.00
Competition Race Vehicles Only.
This plug and play tuner attaches to sensors in the engine bay and works with your factory DME tuning to remap your boost, timing, and fueling for optimal performance and reduced turbo lag. Power gains on an otherwise stock car are up to 25hp and 40tq to the wheels. Installation is very discrete and it quickly removes without a trace when needed. Fuel economy during normal driving is unchanged.

I assure you it exists and in in Beta. Go to http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22748 and get on the list.

You can also request to join the Twin Turbo N63 Crew Facebook group and see what's going on with Stg 2.

Awesome, can't wait for the BMS S2 to be available for purchase. Very strong numbers 😊

440 HP/485 TQ? Is that just the stock tune? I thought the 50i was only 400 HP...

OK...I see that there was a performance package option for the 2013 X5 that added 40 HP...hmmmm...I wonder if it can be added to my 2011 50i M Sport

Not from BMW but it is basically the same thing as the BMS Stage 1 tune which will take you all of three mins to install.

Agreed, 2011 50i is not compatible with the BMW Performance Tune, I've checked.

Steve, is the BMS tune detectable by BMW (warranty issues?)

thanks

Hmmm...I wonder what makes it non-compatible...it's the same exact engine isn't it? I would think it's just a matter of swapping out the ECU or just updating software for the turbo to adjust boost

Actually, even if you could add the performance package to the 2011 50i, I'm sure the price BMW would ask for this upgrade would not be worth it compared to all the aftermarket tunes out there....I guess I'll start researching all the tuning options that are out there.

I believe the boost is increased about 2.25 lbs by manipulating TMAP signals so the increase is very mild. There is no control of fueling like in Stage 2.

I doubt very very much that any 'tuner codes' would be thrown by stage 1.
