Diesel Mods

Are there any mods to improve the performance of my 35d other than a tuning chip or an intake? I have been looking for exhausts, but cant find any.

A tune is going to give you the largest power gain. You can do a DPF/scr delete which sounds awesome. I haven't seen aftermarket exhaust but, I haven't looked much either since the stock exhaust sounds so good. Transmission tune makes a big difference in performance as well. If you want big power with oem reliability, you can get a set of hybrid turbos.

I would do the dpf&scr delete but unfortunately I am in California and I am sure it will not pass smog if they see even a little black smoke out of the exhaust. Also, I haven't checked out a transmission tune, what is it for?

You can tune to not show any smoke but, if they smogged it, it'd show much higher than acceptable nox levels even through the engine is much more efficient.

BPC does offer an emission compliant tune as well, which retains all your emissions and provides a huge increase in power, performance and efficiency. Or you could do a JBD.

Xhp tranny tune can be purchased through google play store. All the info and requirements are listed there.

CA doesn't do the sniffer test anymore so as long as readiness tests pass, you should be fine. I just moved from CA to TX and was highly considering the delete.

A proper tune will eliminate such codes.

Oh okay, are there any tunes on the market that will do that and are popular, or is it a dyno tune?

True, the tune will turn off codes. The problem is, OBD readiness is also off, which will fail OBD readiness tests.

BPC and JR. I run a BPC stage 2+ in my 35d. You can do a mail order tune, which requires you to ship them your DDE or you can have it tuned at their shop in NC.

I dont want to sound stupid, but shipping them the DDE would disable the car from running right?

That is correct. I think both of the main Diesel tuners offer loaner DDEs to reduce downtime now though. You should give BPC a call.

Call Randall at BPC +1 (919) 582-9448
