After a year of searching I finally bought a diesel with AD

And it was totally worth the wait. It is an 09 with 35k miles and most of the options (even HUD). Only seems to be missing 3rd row and rear ent. both of which I did not want. Was HD radio an option this early? Would prefer that to sat radio. Picked it up last night and it drives like new.

man, you hit the jackpot with that one. The one option I REALLY wanted but couldn't find on a diesel were the ventilated seats. So you have those and AD. Nice.

Nice find - congratulations! I spent nearly a year looking myself - it's worth the wait to get the one you want.

Comfort seats with heated/ventilated FTW. This option alone thinned my search results significantly.

Welcome to the '09 X5 with AD club. I'm at 80k miles now. I have comfort seats, but not ventilated. I do have 3rd row and rear entertainment which were must haves for me when my kids were younger and IPADs were not as common

US didn't get soft close doors in '09. Canada did though

Thanks for the kind words. Here is a quick pic. Other than tires it is in great shape. I probably will go with non run flat Michelin Latitude Tour. The clock keeps forgetting the time so it probably needs a battery after 7 years.

Other items that came with it include the factory hitch (we tow a boat), roof bars and rubber mats. We plan to tint the front windows, and possibly add HD radio and running boards (anyone want to trade in FL?)

Waiting for AD was completely worth it. I ultimately gave up on the CIC Nav to get AD. I drive twisty roads more than I look at that screen. Also, the sound system is amazing.

I've never experienced an X5 without AD. I used to think that pressing the Sport button would turn it on and off, and I could never feel a difference. Turns out the Sport button has nothing to do with it, and that AD is always "on".

So, what does the 'Sport' button do then?

I have absolutely no idea. I don't notice the car doing anything different whether it's on our off. Some say it's suppose to change the "stiffness" of the AD but I cannot tell one way or another.

LOL, gotcha.

The new BMW models w/ the Dynamic Handling Package w/ the center console controls - you can instantly feel the vehicle change after changing those settings.

When I press the sport button on mine, I can instantly feel the steering wheel tighten up, the ride becomes noticeably stiffer, and I can "feel" the road more. I always leave it on .

hmm, that's surprising! My experience has been similar to a few other members' cars with AD. If yours is still under warranty, might be worth checking it out?
