Bigger wheels, poor handling?

This is a stretch as it applies to my wife's VW Touareg but we just picked up 20" wheels and tires and was surprised to find the ride a little softer than my 19" stock combo. The 19"s were 108y Continentals and the 20"s are 106 Bridgestone Dueler H/P sports. Could I be feeling the softer ride because the load rating is down resulting in a softer sidewall or do you think it is just the brand of tires that feels different?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

were the 19" tyres run flat tyres and the 20" tyres NON-RUNFLAT ?

if so, then this is the reason.
