Anyone able to help retrofitting Comfort seats ?

yeah I'm crazy.. coz I bought the seats and now I'm scratching my head...
it needs coding and not sure if it will be a direct drop & swap.. I'm willing to try though.. any help or references (in chicago) are highly appreciated

You bought the ones from Craigslist? Good score if you did.

Did you buy these? From "Gus" in Chicago?

I am extremely curious if it will work. What car (year. model etc) are you trying to put them in?

I can't help but think I'm somewhat responsible for this since I posted the ad from Craigslist in the first place. You're as impulsive as me! The only place I can think of to start is Golz Motors in Deerfield. They deal in all things European. I get my Turbo R serviced there. Perhaps they could lead you to someone closer to the city. Keep us apprised!

First thing is to figure out if the plug for the seats is the same as the one on your car. Have someone who has comfort seats post a picture of the plug.

If its the same, you are halfway there. If its not, you need to figure out which plastic connector you need to purchase. See http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...64&hg=61&fg=15. You will need to repin the new connector with the wires from your existing harness. For that you need a copy of WDS which shows the wiring for your car. You can find that on torrent sites

After you get the seats wired, you will need to code the car. Let us know when you get to that point and we can tell you how to modify your vehicle order and which modules you need to code

try calling IND, they might be able to tell you what you need and could do coding for you as well:

http://www.ind-distribution.com/sub/contact.php

http://www.m3post.com/forums/member.php?u=75327

they specialize in BMWs and do LCI taillight coding and has done M3 Performance seat coding

Yes its the same plug - I can text pics if someone wants to see ... from what I've read on the forums, the existing functions shd work even after swap, the new ones will cause some effort to get them working (ventilation, massage, etc) lol screw em if they dont, my butt's atleast gonna feel better

Seats were from 2009 x5, went into 2012 x5,
you will need to have that coded out/reset
I removed my comfort seats from the car when doing an audio system install and it triggered that airbag error. i took it to the dealer for that and some other items and they reset the error and everything worked perfectly

Hello,

I am looking to do this swap myself on a 2012 X5 35i SAV with Sport Package and Sport Seats. I have located one seat and want to replace only the driver side seat. I was wondering if you need to replace the Body Module to get this to work? Will it work if I only replace one of the front seats but not both?

Thanks for any help

Hey guys new to the forum.

I have a 2011 x5 with base seats no lumbar, and they have heat.

I have already installed ( screwed in) the multi contour seats (from a 2010 x5)

I am getting no power or response at all from any of the switches. The seats plugged in directly. And from what I can tell the driver seat harness matches the floor harness.
However the passenger harness does not match completely.

I have tried connecting the power to the passenger seat and nothing happens still

2 questions:

I have tried going online to look up the wiring diagram for the harnesses, if I would know what cable did what I could possibly match them up.

Or should I have the car coded first for the seats, maybe this is why they are not getting any power.

Please advise

Get yourself a power probe and figure out what wire in the connector does what then hardwire everything with an inline 30-40 amp fuse...no coding needed
