Tell why does the president come on TV and talks about gun control, only when some POS goes on a shooting spree. Menawhile back in the real world, thugs have turned his home town into a war zone and called it Chiraq. The decent black folk who are stuck living there, can't do a thing about it because thugs have a no snitching policy, are well armed (even though guns are banned in Chicago), and pretty much run the streets like the Terminator. Yet Obama and most of our politicians don't have shit to say about that. The problem is not race, the problem is thugs and thug culture.

The biggest problem though is pussy white liberals who bend over backwards and make every excuse in the book for these thugs. Yet the vast majority of them never lived or even set foot in the hood. They won't even dare to drive near the hood unless it's broad daylight, their doors are locked, and Windows are up.

Another moron athlete who thinks he's actually intelligent. There are more black on black crimes everyday in this country compared to white cops shooting black males. Why doesn't Colin or BLM protest this? Because it doesn't grab headlines. You play a sport and get paid millions of dollars and this is how you disrespect this country? Why don't you actually do something and go to places like Oakland and educate young, black males to not join gangs and sell drugs? Better yet, quit the NFL and go play for the CFL so you don't have to receive money from the country that "oppresses" you. What a jerk off.

Strangely enough, the NFL doesn't discourage this behavior:

"Players are encouraged but not required to stand during the playing of the National Anthem," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in a statement to Sporting News.

http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news...81y2ensw3xyu7b

Meanwhile the NBA does have a rule:
The NBA based its suspension of Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf on a rule that requires players to stand during the playing of the national anthem. The NFL has no such rule, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement is silent on the subject.

I'm often amazed at how people with celebrity choose to leverage it. They believe they have some responsibility (or power?) to effect change. Much of it comes from history (https://www.thenation.com/article/wh...nicks-protest/), think Ali, Jackie Robinson to name a few.

While Colin has every right to do what he did, it's a poor choice IMO. He could have done more -- like start movement, contribute his personal time to his passionate beliefs and even more of a statement, his $$$ too! I'm a firm believer in 'put your money where your mouth is' and at best, all he's done is start a conversation. So Colin, what's your plan to effect real change instead of just starting a conversation?

People who start conversations usually don't have any solutions. People who have solutions usually just do it, lead by example and others soon follow (Ali, Robinson, etc). So how about Colin, can you lead by example or just shout from a megaphone?

Wouldn't this all be hilarious if he simply sat because he was a lazy bastard and wanted to have a Gatorade, then made up the excuse afterwards due to backlash?

A lot! While families were sending their sons to war, he just said "I ain't got no quarrel with the Vietcong", and said he wasn't going. He immediately received a three year suspension to boxing, and a suspended 5 year jail term/$10k fine.

So, he paid the price for his decision...

I will now refer to Kaepernick as "COLON" not Colin.

And goofy Jane Fonda went and took a ride on a Vietcong tank and joked around with our enemy.

Stupid has been around for a while and never really goes away.

Ali graduated near last in his high school class and had an IQ of 78, regarless of his silky tongue. He only knew how to beat up people and draw crowds. He was not a smart person and possibly was partially disabled.

He too equated the draft to serving white slavemasters. Times were VERY different then, and he had a legitimate argument as racism was blatant, allowed and accepted in most of the country. Totally incomparable to today... though we have some ways to go.

Kaep is not a champion, he's mediocre, at best, and (again) could have used his celebrity status in a far more constructive way than pissing off (likely) 85% of the country. He's also a hypocrite and incredibly selfish.

He's probably just sitting since he's benched and doesn't want to stand up only to have to sit back down again.

And if there's anything Chip Kelly loves more than anything, it's players causing drama.

YOU. NAILED. IT.

If he is truly outraged by this type of "oppression" why is he not in Louisiana right now helping the many who have lost their homes due to flooding, most of them being AA. I dont have patience for this type of rhetoric. He can stand in his palace and throw stones

There's an inverse correlation to how fiercely white people stand up to perceived racism against minorities and how many minorities they actually know.

It's his choice, but his reasoning is totally flawed. If he is so against black oppression, why not go do something about it, and donate some of his millions to help a good cause?? Instead he chooses to be disrespectful towards a country that gives him the opportunity to throw a ball around for a hundred million dollars.. Where nearly 20% of the people fighting for his freedom are black. Either way.. It will be amusing to watch his demise in football. Cant even begin to think about the amount of BOO's he's going to get and things that will be thrown at him during games.

Yeah, especially with it being fresh in everyone's mind. I have a feeling people aren't going to forget about this for a while though.. Especially if he holds true to not standing until "something changes"

It's his right to sit on the bench (where he belongs, go bolts!) and I get that, but his method literally doesn't amount to more than sitting on his ass and doing nothing.

I really doubt anyone is hearing of struggles between the minority communities and the various police forces for the first time through Colin. I'd be shocked if this conversation happened anywhere in the last few days.

A. Why is Kaepernick sitting during the national anthem?
B. He's sitting because he's protesting social inequalities between minorities and oppressive police forces.
A. GTFO! Since when has this been doing on? I've never heard of these injustices?!?
B. I don't think we can be friends anymore.

Don't like the injustice? Totally get that. But sure hope you have a better plan than sitting on your ass.

Yeah especially in a place with such a huge military presence. There are 2 massive Marine bases (Pendleton and Miramar) in SD along with home port for the Navy's Pacific Fleet.

Dear 49ers,

If you need a minority to carry a clipboard, collect millions of $, keep my mouth shut, not be a distraction, not complain and stand during the national anthem, hit me up, I'm available.
