X5 Glow Plus Controller Replacement Question

Do any of you know whether the glow plug controller can be changed in a 09' X5 35d without the removal of the intake manifold like on the e90 335d?

TIA

No. You have to pull the manifold.

I did mine without pulling the intake. Its TIGHT in there and my fingers were a little sore afterwards.

Watch this video to get an idea how to do it:

This is the video I am referring to, has anyone tried this method on an E70 X5? Just looking at my own vehicle I can't see it being possible.

It’s really easy to pull the intake manifold all you need 10mm and 11 mm sockets 8 mm for the egr clamp. I wasn’t able to remove the side rear plug so I remove the 2 torqued screws it’s the motor for the inlet flap just be careful with it and you should be able to assess the glow plug unit......
I had a code p0676 # 6 open I check the resistance on all glow plugs it’s the same and I wasn’t getting full power in #6 so I decided to replace the control unit after replacing the unit I still have the same problem. But the problem is on the cable side if anyone ever saw d difected wire to the glow plug if I need new cable what gauge wire should I use and is it easy to change in connector?
Thanks
