I came from Audi, but I'd only go back to Audi for an R8. I'd consider an AMG GTS, but honestly, I've been appreciating a good WRX or STI lately. I actually want one to split my commute.

I am going to drive a ZL1 when they come out. I feel like a used one w/that A10 may make me sell my Z06.

I traded my X6 for a P car, and my 320 xdrive is my daily.

My M3 is not a DD. It's my summer fun car, so replacement would be a Boxster GTS or maybe F-Type R. The Porsche is stunning fun to drive, nothing like it for the money save the Cayman GTS. And the Jag may be the most beautiful car on the road right now, if you are going to spend $100k give or take a few shekels.

Hard to think of much else that I'm interested in. Front engine rear drive with good manners and not too heavy. Amazingly its mostly gm stuff.

I haven't read through this entire thread or everyone elses answers but I feel like by the time I'm getting tired of the M, I will either go one of two directions. I'll say "fuck it, I'm tired of having a car that I have to pay so much for in every way" and go with a cheap ass ford mustang, so I can still have ponies but the build quality of ikea as well as the price. Or, I'll say "fuck it, there's no substitute for quality!" and have to go with whatever is one level up from the M at the time, which is likely going to be a Porsche, GT-R, or...uh...?

Either Porsche 911 or Benz AMG E Class Wagon. I think about this quite often.

If I had to leave BMW for whatever reason, I think I would have to resort to a Lexus just for the reliability. Had terrible experience with Mercedes (C-Class, ML), there's very little Mercedes could do to get me back as a customer. Audi's don't really do anything for me so wouldn't go there.

I can't really see getting out of my 135, but my dream car has always been a Ford GT (no, not the Mustang) or a CTS-V wagon.
I could always go back to my high school car.....it was faster than most BMW's back then, and had a biplane spoiler!

I'm not super impressed with my BMW, it's more practical than my last car, but nowhere near as fun to drive. Thinking of Mustang GT350R/ Camaro SS 1LE, ATS-V or something like that. M4/C63 might be considered, but cost to benefit is way low and they are having their rear ends handed to them by lesser versions of the two cars above. Americans are designing better chassis now IMO. I might also consider a 911 4S or similar.

The odd thing is when I talk with family or co-workers. They seem to think that my car just "being" a BMW makes have some sort of magical property that will make it out-handle, out-accelerate and out-perform anything else. It's hard to explain how much better the suspension, shocks, engine, etc. was on my Camaro SS, but no matter, I don't really care what other's think all that much about what I drive.

It's still a good looking car. Mine was just like the pic, but with black BBS wheels.

DEpends on the reason I was switching... All things considered, I'd move to a P-car (GT3), but if I was thinking of retirement $$s, I'd go a couple year old Z06, GT350 or Z28. Save a few dollar, at the sacrifice of comfort and luxiry, and still be able to play on the track with my buddies.
