Cooling issues?
hello everybody, been a (11)E70M owner for a little while now but not quite sure what motor it is(N63 or S63) i believe its the N63 cause of earlier model. none that less that V8TT is mesmerizing torque everywhere in the RPM range other then the 6th gear...
the past few days has been very warm, +25 Celsius and even after a quick 10 min trip the fan stays on for a few minutes longer after i have turned the truck off. which leads me to my question does these guys heat up that quickly? or is there something wrong with the cooling system? appreciate any feed back |

All X5M from the 2010-2013 generation have the S63 motor. As for the fan working after, it's normal. That's why the juice is cut to vehicule only 30 minutes after the truck has been turned off to allow the intercooler to cool off (ex: 12 volt plug)
That also makes the battery have a shorter life hence the bulletin from BMW to change the battery every other oïl change |

I did change my oïl every 10 000 km. I'm awaiting my next oïl change so that they can swap my battery and update my firmware so that my new oïl change interval in the car becomes 15 000km in the computer.
