FS: X5 e70 Sport Steering Wheel
Used BMW x5 e70 Sport Steering Wheel. $600 Great replacement for current non-sport package X5 owners to upgrade. Excellent condition. Includes Steering Wheel Multifunction buttons Airbag cover plus airbag Does not include airbag gas canister, but that can be transferred from your current steering wheel (sport or non-sport). Takes only a couple of minutes once the steering wheel is removed from the car. The steering wheel is heated but my X5 did not come with that option therefore I did not use it. Domestic shipping only. Will calculate shipping and add to the price. Figure 10-20 to ship via USPS Last edited by dwd08; 04-01-2013 at 04:44 PM.. |

Do you know what is required to get the "heated" option enabled, just a coding once this wheel is installed or some additional hardware?

I do not. I think I remember researching it when I first got this steering wheel and I came up empty. I remember people saying it would take more than just coding to get the heated option to work.

Any closeups of the grip areas? Is there any wear? Original leather or has it been re-wrapped?

I do not see any signs of wear. It is the original leather but the steering wheel is not that old. Close ups of the 10, 2 and 6 o clock positions attached

Hmmm... looks nice but I was holding out for the M-sport model with the Nappa Leather - my 07's wheel is wearing and the leather isn't soft anymore (glossy and hard). I need to think about this.

Just make sure you disconnect the battery before doing anything. Don't want the airbag going off when messing with it. One thing that was not in the DIY was after you disconnect the battery and reconnect I had an error on the NAV unit the first time I started the car. It went away once I started driving. I thing it had something to do with the AWD system. Did this 2 successful times. 1st was last year when I bought the sport steering wheel and again a couple of weeks ago to put the non-sport back on before trading it in. If you take it to a dealer it shouldn't take them more than 30min. |
