Rear Seat Center Headrest
On the X5M, is there a release to remove the center headrest? I'd sure like to take it out to improve rear visibility.

Center Head Rest
Nope. It's integral to the center arm rest and contains the rear seat cup holders (when the arm rest is down).
I'd like to get rid of mine, too. It may be possible to replace it with the rear center arm rest from the X6, but I haven't checked to be sure. |

I end up keeping the arm rest down most of the time as I don't like the already small view being blocked. I think that it's not removable because of the way that the cupholders are integrated into it. Stupid design, IMHO.

Ditto on keeping it down. Got so used to it down that if any rear seat passenger chooses to put it back up it is an immediate irritant.

Yep I keep it down sometimes as well. A hack saw would work if you really wish to get rid of it. Sure, its not going to look classy but you will have that visibility.
