X5M / MSport body retrofit help
I have been plowing through all of the past discussions on retrofitting either the X5M or MSport paintable bumpers onto an Pre-LCI E70 and I still don't have a clear answer as to what is compatible. My X5 is a 2008 X5 4.8 and in a twist of luck someone rear ended me and their insurance is paying to replace my rear bumper, so it's given me the push to replace my front bumper and wheel wells with color matched parts as well.
Can anyone tell me what part numbers will fit for my car? I was hoping to put the X5M front bumper but I can't find any place that addresses what is compatible. When asked in the past Sweeper answered: Quote:
Primed Front Bumper with PDC 51 11 8 037 267 Primed Rear Bumper with PDC 51 12 8 037 277 I also saw the front bumpers below mentioned in previous posts, but have no idea if they would match up correctly, but I would much prefer the M-style bumper: X5M Front Bumper 51-11-7-205-908 w/o camera 51-11-7-258-347 w/ camera 51-11-8-049-701 LCI M-package front bumper If anyone can help shed some light on what actually fits I would be very thankful! I don't think the x5m front bumper will fit. The x5m & x6 has different headlights and I'm not sure the lines will line up correctly (I maybe wrong?) But 100% sure that they do have different headlights. Hope this helps.

Since you have a pre LCI, you will need to replace the front fenders as well. I'm sure there are some little pieces underneath that will be replaced as well. Once you get the front fenders replaced, you should be able to put the X5M front bumper on.

Great - thank you for the reply. I've ordered the fenders as well so I'll know soon if it works without additional modification! I always have the Msport or AC S bumpers to fall back on, I just like the look of the M series front.

Depends on what type of rear bumper you want. this is what i just did to my truck.
http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/s...bumper%20cover You will need #1,4,2,5,6 and 21 for the rear. and you will need 4 m wheel arches, if you have running boards now then you will have a problem. As for the front you might want to call BMW of Atlanta and they will help you with that. this is where i got all the parts that i just upgrade my truck, so much cheaper, ask to talk to Jordan. I can send you a pics of my truck if you want. Good luck eBMWParts.com Last edited by jspdr; 04-23-2012 at 04:39 PM.. |

Chad, how did your retrofit go? I'm looking into doing this on my LCI '13 X5, but I'm trying to determine exactly what I'll need.
