2010 X5 35d "Oil level too high" warning on iDrive...

Hi,
Have had several BMW's in the past, but this is the first one with the iDrive systems check. My 2010 X5 35d shows "oil level too high" when checked via iDrive. Checking via the dipstick shows the oil level right on "max". The vehicle has the most up to date software. Could it be a sensor? Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks in advance!

I would not take a chance. If there is too much oil it has a tendency to look for a place to go and that can be a real mess - if not a fire.

Thanks, that was my initial fear. However, the oil level on the dipstick is right at 'max'. I even had the the dealer do an oil change to make sure the level is correct, then checked it again myself with the dipstick at home after the car sat for more than 30 mins. I'm not concerned about the oil level at this point, just wondering what could be causing the incorrect reading in the iDrive.
