Just traded E91 for a CPO X5 M-Sport
Our E91, which served us very well was just under 5 years old. We had decided that we needed more passenger and cargo space occasionally and wanted something bigger. A new X5 with the options I would want would just be too much for the budget, so I shopped CPO's and found a loaded M-Sport (2009) at our very own local dealer.
After only a couple of days, I am in love with it so far! Such a different dynamic from our 2 E9x's. Though I still have white knuckles every time I nudge it into the garage! Hoping to take some good photos of it soon, but here are a couple snapped in the garage. Also, the options list. COLD WEATHER PKG -inc: ski bag, 3-stage heated front seats w/fast heating & 4-zone balance control, heated rear seats, retractable headlight washers (ZCW) M SPORT PKG -inc: 19" light alloy wheels, sport seats, electronic damping control, aluminum roof rails, M steering wheel, shadowline trim, anthracite headliner, M exterior equipment, increased top speed limiter (ZMP) PREMIUM PKG -inc: pwr adjustable steering wheel, universal garage door opener, auto-dimming rearview mirror w/digital compass, autodimming exterior mirrors, front seat 4-way pwr lumbar, BMW Assist w/ (4) years of service, Nevada leather seat trim, storage pkg, ambient light pkg, auto pwr tailgate operation (ZPP) PREMIUM SOUND PKG -inc: multimedia changer, 600-watt 16- speaker sound system w/(2) subwoofers, digital sound processing, surround sound simulation, 6-disc in-dash DVD changer (ZPS) REAR CLIMATE PKG -inc: 4-zone auto climate control, privacy glass, rear manual side window shades (ZRC) TECHNOLOGY PKG -inc: rearview camera, park distance control w/graphic display, BMW on-board navigation system, 8.8" display, expanded iDrive system, controller w/force feedback, voice activation system, real time traffic info w/dynamic re-routing, expanded onboard computer functions (ZTP) ACTIVE STEERING -inc: variable speed-sensitive pwr steering (217) COMFORT ACCESS SYSTEM (322) 3RD ROW SEAT -inc: underfloor storage, height-adjustable headrests, self-leveling suspension, 3rd row climate control (4UB) 20-WAY PWR MULTI-CONTOUR FRONT SEATS W/LUMBAR (456) IPOD & USB ADAPTER (6FL)

Thanks. Yep, know about the aluminum trim. The driver's door trim already had several dings in it, but the dealer has a replacement piece on order for me. I'm careful with my seat belts, so it should stay nice once it's replaced.
Here are a few more (better) photos.

Congrats. I have pretty much the same car in Carbon Black. Yours may also be Carbon Black? Hard to tell.
Where did you get that BMW logo on your garage wall? |

Mine is actually Black Sapphire, but you really can't tell unless the sun or a bright light is hitting it. That wall decal is something I found on eBay a long time ago, isn't it great! I tried to find it again, but no luck.

Haven't had a real life test of the cargo space yet, but the E91's cargo - while ample - was a bit tough when you had passengers and cargo to carry. The X5's cargo area is at least a foot deeper and much higher. I really don't know how they arrived at those numbers because my eye tells me otherwise.

That's my impression, but I haven't seen an E91 at the dealer for some time. Maybe the spec for X5 didn't include the room that you could have above the level of the rear seat head rest?

True. Because the leather on the M steering wheel is much smoother and pliable, it doesn't hold up well to the heating elements - so they don't do it. But, small sacrifice to make for it, because that steering wheel is awesome.

Not sure how the roads are near you, but many of the X5-Msports we sell here in Utah get their rear fenders really chipped up. I recommened getting them clear bra'd.
Great looking car, nice find!

Yes, the rear flares already have a fair amount of road rash on them. I would probably have to get them re-sprayed to make it worth it, else I'm just covering chipped up panels. But while I'm talking to my film guy about the new X3 bra, I might ask him about it.

Nice find! My only gripe would be the non heated steering wheel and the inevitable chips. How do you like the handling with the adaptive drive?
