X5m or x6m or cayenne
Hello
I have my f10 m5 for the summer but I've decided I need something for the winter months as well. I test drove the x5m, x6m and the cayenne gts. I don't like the f15 x5 so I don't need to wait. Plus I can get dealer incentives and money off Msrp for both 2013 x5 and x6. On the other hand the gts is something totally different for me. Any input or thoughts? Thanks |

I think the X6M and Cayenne are far more similar.
I have an X5M and its much bigger than a Cayenne or X6M but I needed the cargo space. If your looking for a usable cargo area then the X5M. If you just want to sit higher and 4wd then the Cayenne |

I have the Cayenne turbo, and it hauls ass. I love it, I never find that I need extra cargo space, and never have had any passengers complain about leg space even though I'm 6'6. Coming from 12 years of BMW's, my last being the alpina, and my son having a 3 series currently, I have to say that this is faster than the alpina, and just as comfortable. My only complaint is the cost of everything you have to do for the car. Especially coming form a long line of BMW's I was so used to having everything payed for that going into another brand was a real wake up call. Other than that I love the car. Good luck on making your choice, hope this was helpful.

I loved how cayenne looks especially the interior but to get the best performance, X5M was my choice.
X5M is in similar price with Cayenne S/GTS (depends on options) but they just don't have enough performance #s. X5M is in similar performance with Cayenne Turbo but it's way more expensive than X5M. So my logical choice was X5M (and free scheduled maintenance is always plus) So if you're looking for performance, go with X5/6M. But since you already have a beast (F10M5), you just want to get good handling, fun SUV, go with cayenne.

Went with the X5M after debating this way too long....and I already have an M3.
Porsche nickel and dimes you for everything and my built became very expensive for a GTS, Turbo was even worse. Other posters have it right about best bang for your money. X5M looks more aggressive than X6M in my opinion. The interior Technology is a bit better in the BMW over the Porsche if that matters to you. Full Leather is a great option if you decide not to have black leather. Paid maintenance is a big deal too for these cars. HUD is the most underrated option, love it. Hurry up for the X5M, they will not be available for long which may be good or bad in your eyes. My friend has a cayenne turbo and it pulls hard and it has a better exhaust note. You will be happy either way..... |

Thanks for your replies...I agree with the nickel and diming with Porsche.
The GTS is coming out to a lot more than the x5M. I do like the HUD but after seeing the HUD on the m5, I find the one in the X5M not that great. I think it will be a no brainer for me if i can get a good deal on a 2013. I am leaning towards a X6M because the new X5 is being dropped and by the time I get it, the new F15 will already be on the road if I went with the X5M. |
