08 E70 Restraint system malfunction and PDC issue

HOPE to get a little help, just bought my x5 and the Restraint system malfunction warning came on, has anyone experienced this? Very annoying as the Chime stay on continuously.
Also have an issue with the PDC, I put the car in reverse and the beeping sound doesn't stop, have to press the button in order to turn it off.

Any help would be appreciated!

So a battery cable replacement got rid of your passenger retraint system malfunction warning?
I have the same warning, Bmw wants $200 to see if they can find the problem

Yep, wasn't cheap($400). Dealer item, you can always by the bypass for around $50.

Thanks Man I didn't know such a thing existed.
"Seat Occupancy Mat Bypass" all day on EBAY.

I still dont understand how a cable to the battery causes this malfunction or how a $400 power cable goes bad.

Thanks Agian

No problem, I don't understand that either. I questioned my tech all day about this and when the part was ordered and installed the fault went away.

Garage List
Hey, I have the passenger restraint system malfunction on my 2013 X5. I have heard the most common fix is related to the BST cable using a resistor. Is that correct? I couldn't see where to actually place that. I attached pictures of the area... Any thoughts?
