Extended warranty-dealer

Anyone have a dealer they would recommend for a warranty quote for X5M?
Local dealers seem too busy to respond?

From what I've heard, Penske dealers offer some pretty good extended warranty programs. If you are looking for aftermarket, people have had great experiences with Route66.

Sounds *really* expensive. You could've gotten 84/100K BMW platinum warranty for under $4.5K - there is no coverage better than that.

I paid under $3K for 100K miles or 2023, whichever comes first for my 2012 X5 from Route66 (plan nearly equivalent to BMW Platinum).

Passport BMW, Jeff Steele. That guy gave me the best price over the phone, after contacting about 6 different dealers. Some dealers came back at MSRP, some not at all, some wouldn't budge on MSRP (a local dealer).

Jeff came out low on the first pass. No hassles. I live on the other side of the country from him! He was highly regarded in other forums.

Here you go:
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=814938

BTW, it's not 100K miles on top of existing miles; it's 100K on the odometer. If your car is out of warranty, then you may have to a pay a bit more.

Thanks,
Will you be able to purchase another extended warranty after 100k miles? I'm not willing to own a BMW without warranty.

Assuming you're getting the BMW EVP, how are you able to avoid the key read problem?

He didn't need them. Not all dealers are created equal... I read about that, and one dealer in LA wanted a key, he didn't.

the brochures aren't that useful - insist on getting a sample contract. And what you want is an exclusionary warranty (i.e. items excluded are clearly stated), instead of an inclusionary one (only items covered are stated). HTH.

From the contract, it appears that the premium is NOT an exclusionary plan (Only the ultimate plan is). This does not look like a good deal at all. Run, don't walk!!

At 58K miles, you should be able to get a "power train plus" warranty from BMW directly, for cheaper or about the same cost. I would encourage you to consider Route 66 (Talk to DCU - www.dcu.org); based on the mileage and model year of your car, I *think* you'll be able to purchase the "easy street" plan for your vehicle (BMW Platinum equivalent, if you add in the enhanced electronics coverage), all for well under what you're about to pay your dealer. You can find more details in the thread I referred you to earlier.

I did have to send my key to Passport BMW. No big deal since I have two keys.
You should track package & contact them when it is delivered. Delivered in PM but he didn't get it until I emailed him the next day. I had it back next day with AM delivery.

My concern if I were you would be #13 since the 50i engine already has a campaign for repairing engine components which could be considered a "condition" especially given your recent issues. Not sure how exactly that would work but I'd be asking the question.

I'm a member of Suncoast Credit Union. Does it belong to Digital Credit Union?
