Lol I guess I do.

Although for the first time in my life I've been looking at Mustangs. Never thought I'd see the day.

They were always plasticy junk until the current generation, which is very handsome and European looking. Interior is pretty OK too. It's become so globally popular that I think the "mullet hillbilly" stigma is long gone.

It may be a decent stop-gap for a few yrs until I can get into the Boxster I've always wanted.

No, they weren't. If you ever expected a luxury car interior then YOU were the wrong one, not Ford. It's a Pony car. I've owned 5 Mustangs & all 5 were a blast. My next toy might be a boosted S550 actually.

Mullets were a Camaro thing, not Mustang.

Never expected a luxury car interior but something at least worth the $35K+ price tag of the GT is an expectation. The prior generations all sucked balls from inside. It would never have succeeded globally with that interior.

They did everything right with the current model and it shows with its global popularity.

Personally If I was buying any entry level premium sedan it would be the Kia Stinger or Giula, everything else is really sterile.

We do not get any pretty hatchbacks in US except GTI.
I wish we get same hatchbacks how I see in Europe. So sexy and pretty..

Kia, I have no experience with Korean made products and Giula, it has many electrical/mechanical/engineering issues which is typical with Italian made cars

Not to go off the rails but I was going down a similar path a few months ago and I loved the Giulia so much. However, I only have one dealer within 100 miles and they've only had one car this year. I was going to buy out of state but any of the dealers I tried to work with I had to force them to try to sell me a car (custom order).

Also over on the GiuliaForums there are a decent number of complaints, basically if you have a collision expect to not have your car for a few months, even a windshield left someone out of their car for 3 months as there aren't any 3rd party windshields. And the dealerships do not seem to put any effort into taking care of their customers. Not to mention insurance on a Giulia cost double as much as for my 335ix.

Even though I loved the car, it just didn't seem worth it. Talked to my fiance and she figured it is alright for me to get a coupe so I'm going that route with a 2018 230ix currently in production. (We have 3 small / medium sized dogs and there is always the chance of children in the future)

Be careful with dogs in the front seat, airbags are not their friends. I'd have an M2, but the fact that the rear windows don't go done scuttled it because of our dog. I'm fine with getting my 3 year old kid in and out of coupes, but have to have four windows that go down. So it's sedans or hatches only for me.

An a3 is quite solid but... you have to have the sport pack, other wise it it feels as bad a civic.

With that being said, I can't get over its exceedingly drab interior and feminine looks.

The 2-series doesn't scream "masculine" either, but it sure looks cooler than the very girly A3. It's more fun to drive as well.
Exactly this. Everyone loves the S3 and RS3 perhaps for good reasons but I'd be hard pressed to find a much less interesting car for the money than the a base A3. Lazy styling that relies on Audi badging to sell. Minimalist = acres of dull matte plastic and a near useless back seat.
FWIW... an A3 can come w a better stereo and some of those interior plastics are better than an F80... everything in thatcar is soft... 0 cheap hard plastics.

Definitely..
Also, S3 caught my eyes. Way above in all aspect over A3.

That's a much higher price point... the S3 is a very solid car but competes with the M235i... and I personally think that the smaller offerings from Audi are better. Nevertheless, I think there is something to be said for what Audi offers in an A3, u can get virtual cockpit, awd, sport suspension, bang and olufsen stereo... the interior build is quite high quality as well. But absolute best of all is that u can get a small sedan without runflats.

I'd go GTI if I were in you shoes, but I went with an i3 REx as my commuter to compliment my F80 and I am very very happy. My i3 was a better commuting bimmer than my 328i and my 340i.

In his defense a Boxster is an actual sports car. I love GTIs but they aren't in the same class.

Agreed, and I drive a GTI. Boxsters are great cars and I'd take a Spyder in a second if I didn't need to lug my kid around daily.

80 to 100 miles per day? In english that's 125 to 160Km day. Would seriously consider a hybrid, the Volt looks really nice IMHO and you get great lease deals down there. Would save what, $200 month on gas?

in that segment, i've had a mk7 golf r, mk 7 gti 50th, cla45, s3 8v and rs3 8v

my advise for a fun daily would be a new gti for the money

if you don't want that fun factor, then go s3 for the slightly higher trim quality and perceived value

or wait for new a class which is going to decimate the premium small car segment

Hi OP,

Whatever you decide with, VW or Audi, I've got a set of BBS that came off my S3 that's in great condition. I'll give you a great deal on them when you decide..

2017 A4 is gonna be the best car. Make sure you get one without a MAF sensor, they’re higher HP and a newer engine.
