Leaves hidden in engine compartment
While reading reddit, I got the urge to go check my cabin air filters. We recently bought this car, and I'm still figuring out what was recently done and what needs doing. Well, the filters looked okay, but I found a LOT of leaves under the filter area. I then took apart the left side and found the same thing. I vacuumed it out, but now I'm curious if there are any other areas I need to inspect. If you know of anymore hidden areas I should check, please let me know. Here's 2 pics, one of the left before cleaning, and the right after cleaning.

Test your sunroof drains.
Park on a sloped area. Open the sunroof. Pour some water into the channel and watch for it to exit onto the ground at the front or the rear. |

Good point. Does anyone know if the drain tubes are robust enough to blow air through them? The last thing I need to do is blow one apart somewhere deep in the bowels of the interior.

Leaves & pine needles and other detritus in my cowl or hatch area are the bane of my existence! My wife rolls her eyes when I stop to pluck a leaf off my windshield or from under the wiper arm before getting in the car. Luckily we both park inside at home and work, so this needs only infrequent attention.
Excellent point to check your drains. First see if they drain before worrying about trying to clear them; they may be fine.
