Adding Satellite Radio when to existing Satellite Preparation

What is the most cost efficient option to add satellite radio if your car already has dealer installed 693 - Satellite Radio Preparation?

Can this be done by yourself without taking to the dealer?

Thanks in advance

Instructions attached. In theory, you can simply purchase a tuner on ebay, plug it in and code (which I think you already did). Just do some homework to make sure the connectors are where you expect them to be. And figure out what bracket, if any, is needed.

so the tuner can be any tuner, ie search for: "universal satellite tuner" on ebay?

or are we taling about a dedicated BMW tuner, such as this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/07-13-BMW-X5...xWMqT7&vxp=mtr

It needs to be the dedicated BMW tuner which hooks to the idrive with fiber optic connectors. A generic tuner will not do that.

Gotcha. So final question: will any BMW tuner work? Or does it have to be one specific for E70?

Check realoem to get the part number for your e70 (lookup by vin). Then look for that part number which probably was used on multiple BMW models.
