2012 BMW X6 w/Individual Composition Package
I just picked up my US 2012 BMW X6 35i with the Individual Composition package! This option package, long available outside the US, was finally made available to US customers as per the October 2011 price sheet.
To add an additional level of uniqueness, I also I swapped out the standard wheels for the optional 375 Performance Wheel and Tire set. The car is absolutely beautiful! I encourage those of you who are looking at placing orders to consider the Individual Composition package and the Individual paint color that add some additional choices to the color palette. A few things to note about Individual Composition: It comes with shadowline exterior trim, anthracite headliner, and multi-contour seats, so it's already very close to what you would order in the Sport Package. The obvious omissions are the upgraded sport wheels and Adaptive Drive. So what I chose to do was to just order Adaptive Drive as a standalone option (2VA) which saved my $1100 and selected the Performance Wheel & Tire package. Make sure to use your BMW CCA discount card to get 15% off the Wheel and Tire set (or any other accessories, for that matter). The Individual Composition package also alows you to select from additional interior trim options. I chose Piano Finish Black Trim, which I've been wanting to get on prior cars for many years. It is very elegant! The door sills have BMW Individual to give the car some exclusivity. Finally, the leather is the upgraded Merino in slightly different hues than the Nevada or Nappa options. The price guide states the upgraded leather also includes leather on the dash. However, my car did not come with the leather dash. I'm not sure if the 50i may come with leather, if it's a mistake, or if my build mistakenly omitted it. FYI, none of the paperwork confirming the order ever showed this option, so I wasn't too surprised to not see it on the car. However, I did get a credit from the dealer for the omission. The pictures below show the car with Ruby Black paint and the optional BMW Performance wheels. Interior is Platinum Merino leather. |

Very nice... Got any pictures of the inside?
It does bother me (one of my 10 pet peeves with this car) that it does not come with door sills (or a passenger grab handle while we are complaining). BTW, have you compared it next to a sapphire black?

Have not seen it up against sapphire black. I believe the ruby black pigment is of a different structure with an iridescent quality that reflects more colors. |

Yep, that's why I noted it. My point being that you really shouldn't have to drop $7K on an option package to get them on a car this expensive.

Looks expensive, and unique! I have been looking at the Individual options just for fun. I really like the contrasting seat piping along the seams, and the two tone leather dash looks good also. Why they don't offer the Alcantara headliner is what I would like to know? I would love to have that done on my car.

Definately post more pics. Looking to replace the x5 with an x6 or maybe x6m if budget permits.
