2011 X5 coolant leak

Hi all. My wife has a 2011 X5 35i xdrive and all of the sudden today the low coolant light came on and there is a small puddle on the garage floor. This had to have started today because there wasn’t and coolant on the floor as of this morning. Anyway it looks to be dripping on the passengers side. I was hoping someone could point me in a direction to look so I’m not jumping in blind. Anything common over to leak?
Thanks I’m advance.

Unless you’ve already had it changed out, it’s likely the water pump, which is located on the lower passenger side of the front of the engine.

That was my first thought. Is that something that is DIY friendly or am I better off taking it in?

It can be DIY, depending on your level of comfort. There are YouTube videos to follow. You can get a kit for @ $400 from FCP Euro.

Coolant expansion tank cracks are common as well, not unusual to have to replace it.

I replaced that last year because of a crack. That was on the drivers side though and this is leaking on the passengers side. I wasnt sure if a turbo coolant line was possible, or if a water pump is the most likely suspect.
