I was thinking abut this as well but it's a little expensive. There is one that the Audi guys use from a site called roc- euro that is the same thing for much less. Also can get it with a 45 degree angle which is what I need for the AR pipes since the bung is lower than factory placement.

I’ve tried various methods and none of them work when running without cats ... including mini cats CEL fixes such as those that fabspeed sells.

Every time I get a cel only way I’ve gotten rid of it is by using the JB4 auto clear but I’m not sure if this allows for the car to become “ready” as needed for inspection.

I’m also in NY and only thing I’ve concluded is putting the stock cats in to pass...

Doesn't the MHD tune keep the CEL off? How many "not ready" monitors are you allowed to have in NY? I thought you were allowed one and could still pass. If I've read everything right, the MHD tune will keep the light off and keep just one monitor not ready.

The jb4 keep cel off but both o2 sensors not ready which means no inspection.. a unit simply keeping cel off doesn't mean it's ready.. I remember on my Jeep Srt8 that I have full exhaust I use to reset cel and leave computer obd2 connected and drive unit everything was ready but u have to rush straight to the inspection shop before it goes back lol these cars r way to complicate yes and it seems I'll be putting my stock dp back on.. not spending 200$ on something that might work when I could have stock dp back on in 2-3 hours lol

How many "not ready" monitors are you able to have in NY? I thought you were allowed to have 1, so if you run MHD tune, you'll be fine. Everything will read ready (assuming everything functions normally) except the cats. You should pass.

Highly doubt those things are going to work bro I’ve used a very similar product that had built in mini-cats and they didn’t do shit ... I just put my cats back in this last week to pass inspection before the end of the year since I still have a blue sticker lol.

Cheaper version here https://www.importimageracing.com/pr...yABEgJrWfD_BwE

Basically same exact thing at 70% less ...

I have some that have mini-cats in them and they didn't work there are quite a few designs and options available on eBay and around the web, those fabspeed ones are just ridiculously overpriced.

Given the density of the OEM cats I'm really doubtful any design is going to work, theres about two inches of cat material between the first o2 and the mid cat o2 and these mini cats have very little material in them.

I'll post some pics of what I have, if these things actual work it would be wonderful but I have serious doubts about them and wouldn't risk the $200 price tag.

I am very sorry to hear about your disappointment in the mini cats. We have had some great success with our mini cats.

There are a couple of different issues that can arise when using these:

First, and foremost they are not 100% effective if too much exhaust gets through (with no cat) the spacers are not very big so they will continue to throw CEL. The is about a 3.5 to four inch cat in the spacer.

Second, Sometimes the codes get thrown because of how long the exhaust has to travel to get up to the sensor. The sensors do not like the extra distance that the exhaust has to travel.

Third, We do have the 90 and 45 degree angle but 99% of cars use the 90 so that is what we offer most of the time.

The $200 price tag is a little bit of a gamble. You should really tune if you are doing a catbypass to get the most out of the upgrade.
