Unknown extra cooler/ pre heater on EGR system
Hello,
I tried to fit an EGR delete kit to my 40d yesterday only to find I have an additional 2nd cooler/ pre heater on inlet manifold at rear beside the throttle body. I cant find any information on this 2nd cooler/ pre heater, I think its specific to the euro N57 alloy engine but its not on all. There are 2 low pressure pipes coming from this cooler to what I think is the trans, my car does have the tow pack from factory so could be an additional trans cooler. I need to remove some panels today to see where the pipes actually go. The VPN for this cooler is VPAKAH-19206-AE, its in place of the normal Y pipe PN 11618509116. I searched on realoem with my cars vin number but found no trace of it. By deleting the EGR off the software and removing the front EGR cooler, this second cooler Im guessing is no longer functional (I have ran the car this for several months with no issues) and safe to remove. I just need work out if the flow and return pipes to the cooler/ pre heater can be joined together. It already has the DPF physically removed and the EGR deleted off software along with a remap Thanks, Alan Edit, Theres not a lot of info on the N57 313hp engine at all, couldnt find any schematics for the EGR, cooling or transmission system. Photos of EGR cooler now uploaded and in album. Last edited by AllyG13; 08-17-2020 at 06:19 AM.. |
