How cool do your Ventilated Seats get?
Hello,
In have 1200 miles on my X6M and now that we are in July (in NJ) I gave the ventilated seats a try. They make noise so I know the fan is running, but do not cool down the seats at all, even with the AC on max. Setting is on the three blue lines. Anyone else get any cooling from a hot car? Cheers, |

The ventilated seats do not use AC air; the use whatever air is in the cabin. I find their effectiveness dependent on the type of clothes I am wearing (how thin) and how pre-cooled the cabin is when I turn them on.

They are better than nothing, but not much.
I had them on my M5 (a $6,500 option when you add in all the other required options) and they were the same. Regrets? Not really. Order again, maybe, but ONLY if I were leasing. Because they have zero residual value and you are out the cash.

I can use them only in mid or low setting, otherwise i feel like i'm seating on ice cube
It's uncomfortably cold on "high" |

You must have gotten a special option - because no matter what setting they are on, I can't feel them, I can only hear them. I do notice that maybe my back gets less sweaty - maybe? As noted, they use cabin air - so unless you have the entire cabin chilled, they don't "cool".

I'm not sure how this whole vent seat thing works
But i have 72F full auto, fairly light leather, and i'm light weight So my ass vents pretty quick and it's blowing very cold air through the seats P.S. RE: cabin air for seats? it's gotta be wrong, koz the air feels cold as soon as it blows hot air out off of the seats, while interior temperature is still hot |

Sadly, the only time I want them is the one time they do nothing, right when you get in on a hot summer day. 20 minutes later after the car finally cools down there is a chance of relevance, but wait, I am now at my destination and it is time to get out. Worthless!

I do
Make sure you have vent seat setting to go to back rest and seat equally, or more to the seat Otherwise it may only route air to the back rest BTW, it's shows on iDrive screen as soon as you press vent button |

That is the one option I regret not getting with comfort seats, lesson learned for the future (though I think it was not available with chateau leather at the time which was a must option for me). Anyways, I hope I get nappa leather next time with ventilated seats. I understand what nappa leather is about now (I do not even wanna know what merino leather is about due to the cost) and I want it in my next car. To comment on the topic, I think that on long journeys ventilated seats really help, they may not blow super cold air but I do not think that would be super healthy either. I drove my garaged and air-conditioned car for a longer trip and sure after a while my back was wet no matter how cold it was in the car. Plus, ventilated seats look a lot better!

the vented seats are horrible if you've ever used them in a range rover you know what i mean.
During the past few weeks with 92+ degrees it actually blows hot air as the chairs are so hot. also the active seats are worthless imo

They do help a lot on long trips, and i turn them on as soon as i feel my back/butt is asking for a sweat On hot summer days, My Silverstone merino leather seats dont get hot at all, they are very light color and require no frequent venting I'm very surprised a lot of people complain about them Am I the only person here who's actually satisfied with the way they work? |

i think they are ok. they dont really get all that cool, but they definitely "ventilate" to some extent lol. i had an escalade with the same feature that would blow out cool air which was much better than the one in my M
