You either remove front right wheel liner or the entire bumper; after that it's pretty straight forward as the tank is right there.

Did you complaint to BMW and attempt to get them to cover the cost? The more people who do this, the better the chance the warranty gets extended on this (and you get paid back in the future)

9k? Definitely complain. The tank isn't cheap, so it's worth it.

Normally I avoid dealer at all cost but I would work with them on this and any other diesel emission system issue. IMHO I am 90% sure that BMW will eventually extend the warranty on these tanks. Recently lots of people have been getting this covered out of warranty and that is always a sign the warranty may get extended.

called bmw usa today about some assistance and they "seemed" to be helpful so far. they listened to the complaint and asked what we were looking for. they are going to be in contact with the dealer and get back to me, with hopefully , a resolution.

I'm in the same boat.

Active tank throwing codes.

Considering this. http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...sh-source.html

Are there other options out there?

The product support is there for customers so there's no need for a lengthy post by me.
