More cushion for the pushin- tire size help

I'm running 214 20" wheels and am looking to add a little more rubber to stand up to the potholes here in Boston.

I'm thinking 315 40 R20 Rear and 275 45 R20 front. I think this might affect the transfer case?

If this combo doesn't work what sizes will give me a little more meat?

Thank you all

If you don't want to ruin your transfer case and alter your odometer readings, your best option is to go far a new 18' wheels. You can get it cheap on Ebay.
