Comfort access key fob question (battery)

I have the comfort access option where I can keep the key fob in my pocket to access and drive my X5 . I read somewhere that the battery is rechargeable and charges when the key fob is inserted into the ignition.

Is that the case? If so how often would I need to charge it there, is there a low batt warning somewhere?

Thanks

Nope, it's not rechargeable with comfort access.
You have to replace it once a year, 3$ for Panasonic.
