Another X5M

Well, sad to let go my M3 but I needed space for my new baby on the way. I didn't want to let go the ///M feeling, so I decided to get the M instead of the 35d. I'm really sad though, on the other hand I'll have that ///M, X5M....

I too, let my M3 go. I ended up with an X5 and a new 650 i Vert. No regrets, I was overpaying on the M3 by about 300 or so dollars a month. Got ripped by the dealership I trusted. ended up going with a friend of my bro's who is a GM at another BMW dealership. I was able to get out w/o penalty. Ended up purchasing rather than leasing both cars and saving $$ to boot. You made a good choice Gilbert. I would love to see some pics and congrats on the new baby.

They had two brand new 650 Verts on the lot that were discounted 20K. since the price point was close to the X5, he was able to work the numbers to where he could sell the M3 close to what I paid for it, so he wasnt losing that much money. We also purchased an X5 and traded in a MB SL500, so it worked out very well. The 650 Vert is actually less to purchase than I was paying on the M3 to lease and the 650i was originally stickered at close to 100K.

I just saw your link, your car is pretty nice... I wish I would have done something to my car... Instead I tore up my perfectly running bike and turned it to a chopper. I can't wait until I'm done with this deployment though. Baby on the back seat and cruising with the wifey lol.....

I am having trouble what I am hearing here....the M3 would never compare to a X5/ X6M. They are two different cars and depending on how you drive it they are both substantially different....The M3 is phenomenal and if you like the way it drives you will miss it no matter which other M car you get....

I miss my E46 M3 Cabriolet all the time...My near perfect garage would have an M3 and my X35d in it...

Someday....

Congrats OP on the X5m....A truly spectacular SAV

All I can tell you from my direct experience is that somehow BMW has achieved something very much unexpected in the X5M. Until you drive them back to back, you may not get it.

But in the end, the M3 is a real porker trying to be a sports car. The engine is magnificent, but the car is too damned heavy.

The X5M admits its heavy, and the M division has figured out how to make it work when logic and science say it should not.

It may bother you, but I was bored with my M3 within a few months of ownership. I have the X5M for a year now and love it..........Steve

That's true! I've driven my car for a year and it felt like in the end I was like, "THAT'S IT?" I'm station in Germany so figure out how it goes from there lol.... I'm an hour away from the 'ring and the autobahns are only minutes away! I'm station where the mountains are and roads that never straight.
