Dealer mistake - what to do????
Today I received my new X5 tags along with registration card. I'm financing this car through BMWFS and i havent made a single payment yet (besides the downpayment). I was surprised to find the vehicle's title and it shows "no liens"..... what should i do?

Just because you have a title that says "no liens" doesn't mean the loan doesn't exist anymore. So, it means nothing really.
Nice try.

I already had this happen with me in the past, BMW will contact you requesting the title, if they don't contact is even better, lets say, in 2 years from now you decide to sell your machine, your buyer will ask for the title, you show them (speeds up the selling process big time, when you are selling the car on your own), get two checks one to payoff your loan and the other one is the left over, the one that you will deposit in your account.
Now, pay attention, if you sell this car without paying BMW, which is possible, you are in deep trouble! BMW may sue you big time, so, keep with you as it is, just make the right moves when the time comes. |
