X6 35i Dinan tune bricked my car

I took my 2013 X6 in for a Dinan stage 2 tune today. I was looking forward to the extra power. Even though I have the M performance package the power gains were going to be good.

Unfortunately there were compatibility issues and the tune wouldn't load and it won't go back to stock. The shop has been good about trying to get it to work but at this point I don't have a running car. They can't get it back to stock. Seriously bummed.

Did you go through a BMW dealership as your installer? A BMW dealer that is also a Dinan reseller should have pretty good success in resolving those issues. Sorry to hear about the problem. I had all the Dinan work performed by my BMW dealer's service department and have had no problems. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon.

Man that sucks! Hope the installer can set things right, or in the worst case scenario, that between BMW and Dinan one of them will make sure you don't have any more headaches over this.

If your car happens to be getting worked on at the Mountain View Dinan office and need a drink to ease the pain, PM me and I'll buy a round.

I should have my car back today. I was the lucky first 2013 car and some bugs were found. Both the shop that did the work and Dinan have been great about. It is going to take Dinan another week or so to get the tune working but it will work for all 2013 cars.

Car is home and is back to factory settings. Dealer was great and is going to call me when the tune is ready.

I just purchased a 2013 x6 35i with the m performance pkg also and got the stage 2 installed today!! I called dinan before we installed it and they said it should work right away. The dinan sales rep said to call if didn't work as they know extra steps that the installer can do to get it work. It worked first time and so far no issues I will keep you posted.

I did notice a big difference in the torque, but saying that I haven't really hammered on it yet as it I only bought the x6 on monday. I need to get some miles on it for the basic break-in. I have the dinan stage 2 on my 2012 335is and it was a massive change I loved it. But you can't get the same numbers out of the N55 engine as the N54 could.

Any updated on the difference in performance after you break-in the X6? What are the numbers of Dinan stage 2 on the M-perfoamance package X6? Is there any difference?

Thanks

I'm curious too! I have an X5 with the M Performance Package. I'm trying to determine if the Stage 2 Dinan or JB is worth it.

It was a huge improvement with the dinan stage 2!!! It way quicker than before and sounds a lot better now too!! It feels as quick as a 50i now but handles better. I highly recommend it for anybody. The m performance just adds to everything especially the sound!!! Yes it costs more the the jb4 tune but warranty is still very important to me. I have had Dinan tune on three bmws and not one issue. Other than they don't have a tune yet for the 2014 335i that I have ordered.....

I'm from canada, and was wondering when you did the tune with dinan. Does it void the warranty for your car? I was looking at JB stage 2 or the AFE scorcher mod, but am worried of the warranty for my car being voided... THANKS
