BMW Apps retrofit to E70 LCI

Wanted to contribute something to the forum after reading so many posts. I just finished retrofitting BMW Apps to 2012 E70(09/2011 built) it was fairly simple. The hardest part is searching and downloading all the data files. Here is what you need:

-your car must have nav.
-download sp-daten v41
-D-CAN cable

Here is what to do:
-fa_write VO $6NR to CAS
-sg_codieren to CAS and CIC

That\'s it! Congrats and now you have BMW Apps on your E70!

Will you post a DIY? I'm not sure what the fa_write... and sg_codieren.... means. Also, will this work for an LCI E70 that was built before April 2011 when they started adding BMW apps?

You should go over to the bmw_coding_.com (remove the _ in the website name) website and start reading. fa is your vehicle order, he basically modified it to include bmw apps. Then he coded the relevant modules so the car knows that it has BMW apps. Its a DIY only if you have done the proper reading.

Its funny when forums try to stiffle information by blocking out other sites.

Ah, I got it now...thanks!

Separately, am I missing any parts to allow BMW apps to work on my post LCI, but pre-April 2011 E70?

I don't have the link to the cable anymore, but make sure you purchase one that's DCAN capable. Buy from reliable sellers.

I have E70 - 2011 (built 8/2010). It has CIC, Combox, Nav,etc... Can I modify VO to get BMW Apps in this case? Do I have to replace any hardware?
Thanks

S609 Prof NAV System
S6AA BMW Teleservice
S6AB BMW control for Teleservice
S6FL USB/Audio interface

If the software in your car is newere than v41, you need an FSC enabling code. If the software on your car has been updated by BMW, you'll have to buy that FSC. If not, just add $6NR to the FA and code CIC, CAS and FRM (so the FA matches).

When you start coding, you will see the version based on the trace files, things like cic.09. The bimmer retrofit coding guys are in your area, get them to help. Ideally, you can get Okee to do it remotely (codemycar@gmail.com).

If you send us your VIN we will check your car software version. We can also retrofit BMW Apps in your car with special activation code.

But only when connected via USB right? Does it work with ios7? I recall many people bitching about that when ios7 first came out... Then never paid much attention after that.
