My X5 M50d came with the spare wheel because I did not want the 3rd row seats.

Your welcome DDP, glad u finally got it all figured out.
And no the 3rd row seat is not even an available option on X5M's. The spare is a $150 option if u opt for it when u build the truck, if not u get a "storage bin" becuase the truck comes with RFT's. |

A little different to here in Australia, yes all X5 come with runflats here as well but you get the spare tyre as standard unless you ordered the 3rd row seats, then again its built into the price anyway so a $150 its not to bad.

Goddammit these prices! I had to get a spare for MINI - another BMW and somewhat premium brand, mind you! - and it was like $45 for the rim and $60 for the tire. Granted it's 15 inch, but still, how much more metal and rubber you get for extra $450+ ?? |

Just received spare tire kit from local dealership. Haven't yet secured in trunk, but wheel does fit nicely in storage. Will mount bracket & secure wheel later tonight, but wanted to say thank you again for researching all these parts. I think my local dealer is a believer now. DDP |
