Has anyone else here been compensated for late delivery?
I'm looking for the same. I have been working with BMW NA and my agent says I will be compensated but they don't want to offer a number until the timeline for the fix is confirmed (parts available). BMW NA has stated they are authorized to cover payments and I'm thinking fair compensation is about an average payment per month ~$1500 this drags out. Minimum would be something closer to a lease payment since the 2016 cars are loosing value as the 2017s hit the ground. Current status is that mine is on the priority list and my dealer has been authorized and instructed how to place the parts order.

BMW M owners are some of the most loyal out there. I have owned an M3 almost continuously for the past 15 years and this will be my 4th. I have owned every model except the E 30 but this will be my first new BMW purchase (others were all extremely low millage garage queens). If they try to balk at compensation I will be escalating this internally until I find someone that understands customer acquisition cost "CAC" and Lifetime value "LTV". At 37 years old it would be a much better financial decision keeping me as a customer for the foreseeable future vs losing me entirely to Porsche (Good thing for them Porsche doesn't have a good looking 4 door family sled, I have a modified Cayman S already and a GT3-RS in the plan).

I'm in a little different scenario than most of you guys since I didn't order it and was in process of buying on off the dealer lot. I could theoretically still cancel my loan and walk away probably only loosing a bit of interest for the last 6 or so weeks. Problem is I really want my Black/Black comp package M3 even though it will technically be the wife's car! Until it goes out of warranty and I start modifying it to have over 600hp anyway.

I would like to hear what others think on the subject of compensation? Any success getting compensated to date?
The Panamera turbo or 4s isn't a slouch as a 4 door sled!

They are plenty fast but I really don't like the look of them. To each his own!

My delivery will be to my home, not a dealership, so there is no official pick up date. It is a very uncommon situation, but an option for diplomatic or military sales. My biggest reason for registering right away is simply to cut my payment by over $300 a month via a refinance. I can't refinance the car with money from the sale of my current M3 until it is registered. I will have all the other paperwork done, and tax free to boot, when the car finally arrives.

This is correct-ish. The bolts can actually be re-used again BUT the bolt set with the bum diffs cannot be re-used as it is part of the whole assembly that is being recalled.

I compiled a couple of comments about the 'can crunch noise':
http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...5#post20402775

It seems that quite some M2 owners already heard that occasional, peculiar grinding/screechy rambling noise coming from the rear underside (alike the sound of a soft drink beverage can being crushed). Troubling fact: an M2 forum fellow with a new diff still hears it.

Just an update on mine, looks like it has now been fixed and has left the plant (status 9000) so they must be getting through them.. Mine was built the week on the 4th so if yours is still waiting I would imagine it will be fixed very soon

Also got an update on mine. Appears the parts are in transit, could take 5-7 days to arrive. I've been informed it takes 1 day to fix, following which they need to track and align the vehicle. Finally some positive news for the guys waiting for their motors in the UK

Today's Genius update- Work order completed on the 22nd, but they don't have a date in their system as to when it will reach the dealer. Work done at the Brunswick VPC and my dealer is about 5 hrs away from there. Hopefully I'll be back in the car soon. ED pickup was 7/7 and drop off was 7/12. It would be great if I could be in the car before this weekend.

Very cool. You dropped your car off as I was picking mine up. Do you know when it arrived at Brunswick?

Thanks again for the photo of my car at the Welt. It made it into the ShutterFly photo book I completed of the trip!
