Yes. I like it a lot too but in terms of a drivers car, the size/weight along with 333hp makes e46 the best in my mind

I miss my E46. Owned it for 9 years and with SMG with no issues whatsoever.

E60 M5 V10 with the right exhaust just sounds insane. Not just loud, but exotic.

I remember my first time turning around thinking, "now, what is that all about?"

Please tell me you're kidding, the E60 has a lower resale value that the E39. The manual was slower than the SMG model, but at least down the road it'll save the average owner 5-10k in repairs. That's the only good thing about that car. It's a perfect example of what happens when manufacturers allow the public to dictate what they should build. The transmission gearing was wrong for that engine.
They added a manual because people wanted it. That's admirable that they even went back to the drawing board for a car that was almost finished its production. Who cares if it wasn't synced to the engine as well as the smg. The smg had its issues also. The resale value is poor because of its issues which stem from first generation electronics (e90 suffers from this a tad also). But it had the same weight as an e39 with 107 more HP and it has probably the best sounding engine in history under the hood. I'm talking from a driving perspective not resale and maintenance issues.

E39 M5 would like a word with you.
Would that word be that it weights the same as the e60 with 100 less HP? I'm not saying the e39 is bad in any way. Jeez you guys are so sensitive.

The manual started in 2007 model year. I know because I had one for 7 years.

No kidding. I've been around cars a long time (I'm 57), and hearing an E60 M5 at the track with a full Meisterschaft exhaust system is unreal. Simply one of the best sounding cars I've ever heard. As it goes by you, grabbing gear after gear, with the Doppler effect and all, that alone makes a car nut want to own one of these.

If that were my car he was driving I'd have to tell him to STOP FREAKING DOWNSHIFTING AT EVERY CURVE. I mean poor guy riding must have been like what's he about to mess up on my car and he needs to slow down around those motorcycles and get over a little more. Seriously, did he say anything positive other than the manual wasn't that bad?

Coincidentally, I was behind a E63 M6 yesterday. I have to say, that wail of the high revving V10...it beats the pants off my S65B40 and your E46s all day any day. So those who says the E46 M3 is better, it's just absurd...The E46 is not even better than the M5's little brother, the E9X M3. So don't go there with this absurdity.
A quick check on Cars.com. There are only (2) 2010 manual E60's for sale. Considering that 8,800 came to the states in it's 5 year run; I would say that this is the one to have and is very rare.

yeah, but according to most respondents on this thread, no one wants a E60 MT

That's because they can't find one since the owners won't sell them!

so then you just trash the car on a forum and hope an owner reads it and sell his under market value? Smart.

Yes. That's what I'm hoping. The car is a POS. Especially the manual.

I'm hoping all the rod bearings in those cars fail too. Particularly pertaining to 6MT M5s below 60,000 miles in the western US, ideally Silverstone Metallic, unmodified with a clean interior, and if Allah willing, with CIC and new PSS tires.

Seriously tho, someone better jump on this...that's a super clean low mileage car. It's as rare as it gets, no wonder he wants $40k+ for it.

He's also got the rare updated CIC navigation too with LCI taillights...OMG, seriously. PERFECT! If you tell me it's also got active seats and front PDC, I'm going to lose it...

Front PDC yes, active seats no.

But hell of a car, though. I'd buy it if I could.

There's a clean late Euro-spec LCI 550i for sale. 6MT, CIC, M pack and all that stuff. I am sure it is one of the rarest E60's ever.

First off, a 2010 E60 M5 is exceedingly rare since only about 230 were imported to North America. If you take M5 BMWNA import numbers for 2007-2010, the years the 6MT was available, you see an uptake rate of 29% for the 6MT (1364/4751). So just estimating broadly, if we assume a similar take for 2010 models, that leaves about 68 cars, 2010 M5 6MT. Probably not something to mention to the seller; however, the fact that such a nice car went through a wholesale auction requires great care to purchase it -- thorough PPI, paint meter inspection, full unibody inspection, etc.
