Hello, New X5 35d owner

Yesterday I picked up my 2011 deep sea blue x5 35d and could not be happier. The car feels very solid and when I was driving back home with my friend he was joking that it feels like driving a tank. The car came with sports performance tires and I don't want to drive it until I install my winter set up. For my winter set up I have style 334 19" wheels 9" width all round and I am debating if I should put spacers in the back. The car came with "flares" and with 9" wide tire in the back it is not going to look nice. What kind of spacers do u guys prefer? Another question that I have is regarding TPMS, I know that on 2011 models BMW decided to change the type of TPMS and will need it for my winter set up since Im not going to use Run Flat tires for winter. The dealer quoted me $535 for TPMS with valve stems and I think it is too much. What is the best palce to buy TPMS for 2011 X5s? The last question that I hae is regarding Ipod USB adapter. I ordered the Ipod Usb Adapter and I thought it is going to come with the cable. When i asked my Sales advisor he said that it does not and said that I can buy one for $79. I know that my sisters x3 and my friends 135i came with bmw cable already included in the price of this adapter. I will post the pictures of the car this weeeknd when I get back home. Thank YOU

The new TPMS is apparently expensive but $535??? The BMW price may include installation which would involve unmounting and remounting the tires but yours should be no more labor than any other new tire install. Check Tirerack.com for TPMS pricing.

I believe Oct '10 and newer iPod connections use the Apple cable, not the BMW Y cable. You get more features too.

I have a similar setup and that seems expensive for tpms. I'll post the partnumbers and prices tomorrow.

Each individual sensor is $115 and $15 for valve stem, so with tax it comes up to $535. I called the dealership again today and that what they say. I know that the older TPMS were made by Beru and the model was RDE 008 and for late production models in 2010 they changed it to Beru RDE 012. Im still going to call Tire Rack because there's no way I will pay that much for TPMS.

Yes I did. These are the part numbers and retail price for each.

36 10 6 790 054
RDC
4
$82.71 each
36 14 6 792 829
Valves
4
$15.28 each

My math tells me this retails for $391.96.

That price is without a discount if you are a BMW CCA member or have other contacts.

If you need a set I can hook you up with my dealer and they will ship it to you.

I'd hate to ask you what you paid for your style 334 rims!

I got style 335's.

Thanks for the part numbers. I got style 334 wheels from Bert Smith BMW down in Florida. They had listing on eBay and the BIN price was $649 but the thing that threw me off was that it said they are 20" and staggered. I was sure they only come in 19" same width all around but still researched online and called the dealership. They checked the wheel size and called me back and they were 19" so I told them I am going to buy them. They wheels came from 2 day old Bmw x5, they client did an upgrade form 334s to 336s. I just hope the wheels will fit my x5 35d.

Here are some of the pics with my winter set up. Pictures were taken 3 days after the blizzard that hit the midwest last week.

Gorgeous "winter" set up by the way. Very nice truck. I so want one now! Just drove one in the off-road setup in Spartanburg and did factory tour 3 days ago. What can I tell you, I am in love already. My next truck in a year or two. Was down there on 2011.5 M3 delivery.

Sorry to restart an old post but I have a 2011 X5 35i Sport with the 20s. I purchased 334s like you did with non rft 19 inch pirellis (this might be overkill for where i live but I want my family in a tank this winter). Did you end up using spacers and are these pics with or without them (great pictures by the way). Also did you buy a compact spare and if so from where as I know tischer sells them.
