Tsar Bomba, most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated.

Capable of 150 Mega tons it was limited to 57 Mega tons, because there were safety concerns for the crew. It was also fitted with a parachute to slow it down to give the flight crew time to leave the area.
The Soviets weren't very good at pin point drops so they created bombs that would cover a large area, taking precision out of the equation.

TB broke windows nearly 600 miles away with it's shockwave. Amazingly terrifying.

Having been to Hiroshima and saw the destruction that the atomic bombs caused, I hope that we never ever have to go through something like that again. It's incredibly sad and terrifying.

THIS!

I was incredibly touched by the forgiveness granted in the memorial park, and the power of water

This puts the magnitutdes in perspective. First image is Fat Man (dropped over Nagasaki) and the damage radii over NYC. The second image is Tsar Bomba's damage over NYC (and surrounding area.

The largest circle in both images is probably the gnarliest....people in that range have a near 100% chance of 3rd degree burns from the thermal radiation.

Tsar Bomba would have nearly 8mm deaths and 4.2mm injuries. Insane to think about.
