Leather Cleaner?

Hi All....What are your experiences with leather cleaner/conditioner? I am looking to use it as a maintenance/precautionary care on my '11 X5 50i. The leather is good (only 8k miles) but I want it to remain looking good for many miles to come. I see that BMW has their own kit, which i think is made by Lexol? Anyone prefer Mothers or Meguirs? Do some smell better than others? I would like to keep the or enhance the "New BMW Leather" smell. I also dont want it to be a high gloss shine afterwards either....Any recomendations or pro/con experiences you've had....Thanks in advance!!

Go with the BMW lotion (not made by Lexol I dont think) but use Lexol leather cleaner first so the lotion absorbs as well as possible.

I use adam's polishes leather cleaner and conditioner. It's by far the best stuff I have ever used.

+1 tried almost everything over the years and zaino is the best so far, and smells the best. Lexol is my least favorite, other good choices are sonax or leatherique cleaner conditioner.

Well. I prefer Adams because I think it smells the best, applies easily and evenly, does not dry glossy, has a nice matte finish, has UV protection, makes the leather feel great and last very well. Best of all it's made in America and comes with 110% satisfaction guarantee. I bet other products here can't make all of those claims.

Hope that helps.

I use the Harley Davidson leather cleaner and conditioner. It has been my favorite, works really well.

I have had great luck with the BMW stuff, it also restores the leather smell in a good way. I have also hear good things about leatherique and about to get some to try.

I also used the BMW branded product in case of any problems with compatibility since they all use different types of leather.

didn't want to create a new thread... how do you guys clean or "shine" the plastic parts of the exterior, ie the non painted portions like the extended wheel fenders. after awhile the black plastic loses its luster and becomes dull.

edit: something like this ? http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...n#BVRRWidgetID

I use leather masters cleaner 3 step process. And then I use Prima Nourish and allow that to dry to a nice matte. I tried just straight nourish, but it didn't give me the finish or the feel that I wanted.

I use Gtoits Garage Leather Claener on my Porsche 911 Cabriolet, it keeps the leather soft and does not have a gloss. My car takes a beating in the sun and the Groits has kept it looking and smelling like new. I use it on my X5 also.
